What is a Craniofacial Disorder?

A craniofacial abnormality is a disorder of the face or skull that can result from birth defects, tumors or trauma. Dr. Beals is fellowship trained in craniofacial surgery and has been performing craniofacial surgery in Arizona since 1986. He is nationally and internationally known for his craniofacial surgery and research contributions to the field. He founded the Barrow Cleft and Craniofacial Center and the Craniofacial Foundation of Arizona. Dr. Beals is a founding member and past president of the American Society of Craniofacial Surgery, a member of the American Society of Maxillofacial Surgery, the American Cleft Palate Craniofacial Association and the International Society of Craniofacial Surgery.
